summer exhibition for Dec 2019 &

January 2020

The month of October has been one where South Africans have been supporting
their National Rugby Team – more affectionately known as the Springboks or
“Bokke” – on social media more than ever before. “#StrongerTogether”
is the team’s official hashtag and the #StrongerTogether campaign has been used
to unite the country throughout the duration of the Rugby World Cup this year.
Globally, the #StrongerTogether hashtag was mentioned 3 640 times in the news
and 213 000 times on social media, in the month of October only. In total that hashtag had a social reach of 5.33 million people. The above figures show our/the world’s need to unite while respecting cultural differences and individuality.
This group exhibition is inspired by this encouraging trend showing works by fine artists from across the African continent, demonstrating the power and beauty of uniting different visual approaches, genres and cultures.
